Host Homes Program

The Homeward Initiative developed a Host Homes Program for LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. The program was the first of its kind in the city.

Host Homes provide a young person ages 18-25 with a private, dedicated space in a safe and welcoming home environment for a 1-6 month period of time.

In summer of 2020, the Homeward Initiative transitioned stewardship of the Host Homes program to our community partner, Valley Youth House. You can learn more about the program by visiting their website. Valley Youth House

The Homeward Initiative is currently consulting for a project on affordable student housing that addresses the holistic needs of low-income community college students. The goal of the project is develop a sustainable, scalable model of student housing that empowers young people to chase their dreams by eliminating the barriers they face to higher education achievement. We have partnered with a local real estate developer to design and implement a Launchpads pilot program in upstate New York.
