HOST HOMES

Host Homes provide an LGBTQ young person ages 18-25 who is experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia a safe, welcoming, and affirming private and dedicated space for 1-6 months.

Hosts

Hosts are stable and supportive adults, understanding and willing to learn about the challenges facing LGBTQ homeless youth in our community. Hosts are a source of acceptance and guidance, providing a young person with the positive reinforcement they need to move forward with their lives, whether through education, employment, or independent living.

We are currently recruiting Hosts & Host Homes.

A BIT ABOUT HOST HOMES

Pioneered by Nightstop, a United Kingdom organization founded over 30 years ago, today they are providing over 13,000 beds to young people every year.

In Minneapolis, the LGBTQ community created the first LGBTQ-focused host homes program, now serving as a national model of excellence. The success of these and other programs around the country have resulted in similar pilot programs in Baltimore, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Louisville, Cincinnati and Seattle. And now, in Philadelphia.
